5 Party Getaway Pieces For Weekend Trip

The last thing you want to worry about on a weekend getaway is what to wear when you’re getting ready. You ARE there to relax, right? The trick is to pack strategically. Pack light and build a color story. By packing items that complement each other in color and style, last minute mix and matching is a synch if the weather does an unexpected switch or you’re simply feeling indecisive. Of course where you're going for the weekend makes a huge difference - mountain climbing calls for a different wardrobe then a girls trip to South Beach.

So, for party girls like me (check out  http://www.ampartygirl.com/), I went on the hunt for looks on the streets and boutiques of NYC with my buddy and fellow blogger JamieJolie (LINK TO JAMIE'S BLOG). I spotted some inspiration pieces at Yamak, a very cute boutique down on Christopher St where I hunt for cute dresses and accessories, and some gals (who were coincedently on a weekend getaway to NY) who graciously let us photograph their looks. Thanks Ladies!

Here's a list of 5 Party Getaway Pieces you shouldn’t leave without.

One-Piece Outfits always do the trick - like this season’s floral/ patterned short rompers. They're great for heading to the beach, sightseeing, or even heading to a bar - as long as you accessorize it right. Long pants rompers are also a good move for chilly days/nights, and look great with heels or flats.
Dresses are a no brainer. What I'm absolutely loving now is multi-way dresses - like the ones at American Apparel - that can double as a skirt. When packing up your dresses don't be afraid to pair them with a jacket of another pattern - as long as the patterns don't compete for attention.

Always bring a jacket - its essential. This season I'm loving anorak’s. The can be dressed up or down and will take you into Fall. The jacket pictured is from Top Shop and is water proof.

Pretty Sandals - Pretty flat sandals dress up simple looks but are still comfy enough to walk around in. I love jeweled ones and of course metallics (I'm a metallic fanatic!). Pretty sandals are like jewelry for your feet and so sexy. I'm over gladiator flats though. You might still wear a pair from last year - but don't bother investing in a new pair - there's just too many other options to chose from ( like the cute gold studded ones worn by the Street Chic lady in the black and white). And for petite women especially, gladiators can cut your leg in a way that makes you seem shorter. No bueno.

Gold Accessories are my FAV for trips. They glam up everything and look phenomenal with a tan.

Happy Travels!
